CYCLING

There are various routes for both an easy peddle & for the more serious road or mountain bike enthusiast

Easy peddling - A cycle ride along the canal into Brecon (7 miles). Or the opposite way to Llangynidr (4 miles) as there is a series of 5 locks on the canal that the boats have to go through.  There is also a good pub in Llangynidr called The Coach and Horses and a café called Walnut Tree Cafe. There is a bike hire shop called Bikes & Hikes next to the shop in Talybont. Tel: 07909 968135

We stock the Mountain Bike & Road Cycling pack so if you would like to follow a set route, please let us know and we can provide these packs to you.

Brecon Canal.jpg

Brecon

There is far more to Brecon than just a stroll around the shops.  There is a cathedral, a military museum, a promenade along the river where you can hire out boats and a canal where you can also take a boat ride or a stroll along the canal towpath.  There are also regular market days and a monthly craft market & farmers market

Crickhowell

Crickhowell is a small town with a selection of local shops.  The river Usk also passes through Crickhowell and the canal is high up on the hill in Llangattock.

Hay on Wye.jpg

Hay on Wye

Make a Day of it and have a walk around Hay on Wye town centre and then a scenic tour back along the Gospel Pass, passing Hay Bluff and calling in Capel Y Ffin church,  CwmYoy church and Llanthony Priory.  A rare opportunity to visit ruins of an old monastery that now also contains a pub!

Cardiff Bay.jpg

Cardiff

Cardiff is just over and hours drive from The Arches and if you like cities you will love the hussle & bustle of Cardiff.  Fantastic shops, a Castle, beautiful parks and the Cardiff Bay Area with it's restaurants & views over the coastline make a great day out.
